Donna J. (Reschke) Kirkendall

Donna J. (Reschke) Kirkendall, 85 years of age, of Falls City passed away Monday, August 27, 2018 at the Nebraska Heart Hospital in Lincoln. She was born on January 15, 1933 in Preston to August and Opal (Durfee) Reschke. Donna graduated from Falls City High School in 1950 and married Jesse Kirkendall the very next day on May 26 at the First United Methodist Church in Falls City. She devoted her life raising her family and working on the farm while maintaining a huge flower and vegetable garden. Donna was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Falls City and enjoyed gardening, yard work, dancing and especially spending time with her grandchildren and great-granchildren.

Donna is survived by a son, Bruce and wife Janet of Auburn; daughter, Debra Shafer and husband Vernon of Falls City; 2 grandchildren, Kari Anne Nickmann and husband James of Kearney, Kody Kirkendall and wife Christen of Monticello, Minnesota; 4 great-grandchildren, Emma and Logan Nickman, Harper and Rex Kirkendall; brother-in-law, Dean Kirkendall of Falls City; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jesse; and brother, Harold “Bud” Reschke.

Private Memorial Graveside Services will be held in the Steele Cemetery in Falls City. There will be no visitation. Memorials are suggested to the family’s choice in care of the funeral home. Hall Funeral Chapel in Falls City in charge of arrangements.
