Kevin Ray Keithley

Kevin Ray Keithley, 52, of Lexington, Nebraska was born on August 12, 1965, in Auburn, Nebraska to Darrel and Judy (Abegglen) Keithley.  He was raised in Auburn where he had all of his schooling.  Kevin graduated from Auburn High School with the class of 1985.  After graduating, Kevin began to work at a sewing factory in Nebraska City.  It was there that he met Patricia “Trish” Vinson and the couple would later unite in marriage on November 19, 1988 in Humboldt, Nebraska.  The couple began their marriage living outside Humboldt before moving to a farm outside of Auburn.  In 1992, Kevin and Trish moved to Lexington, Nebraska where Kevin worked for sixteen years at Tyson Foods.  Kevin was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and anything that was outside.  He was a skilled carpenter that enjoyed woodworking very much.  Kevin was diagnosed with brain cancer ten years ago and has fought a courageous battle that included two brain surgeries.  Needless to say, Kevin was very strong willed and was a fighter to the very end.  Kevin lost his 10-year battle with cancer on Saturday, January 13, 2018, when he passed away at the Lexington Regional Health Center in Lexington, Nebraska having reached the age of 52 years, 5 months, and one day.  He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers-in-law William and Earl Vinson, and a nephew Shawn Anderson.

Kevin is survived by his loving wife Patricia “Trish” Keithley of Lexington, NE; daughter Samantha Schippert of Lexington, NE; grandsons: Damien Peterson of Lexington, NE; Maverick Schippert of Lexington, NE; a brother Rodney Keithley and his wife Kathryn of Auburn, NE; sisters-in-law: Lauretta Anderson and husband Lee of Humboldt, NE; Kathleen Mensing of Springfield, MO; Michelle Vinson of Bolivar, MO; brother-in-law Michael Vinson and wife Virginia of Auburn, NE; son-in-law Mark Schippert of Johnson Lake, NE; and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. 

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 19, 2018, at The Hall Funeral Chapel in Auburn, Nebraska with Pastor Corey Miller officiating.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m.-8 p.m. on Thursday, January 18, 2018, at The Hall Funeral Chapel in Auburn.  Family will greet friends from 6-8 p.m. at the mortuary.

Interment will be at the Nemaha Cemetery in Nemaha, Nebraska.

Memorial contributions will be designated according to the wishes of the family.
