Richard Tackett Obituary

Richard Tackett, age 75, of Falls City, NE, passed away Sunday, July 29, at his home in Falls City.

A memorial service for Richard Tackett will be held Thursday, August 9, at 11:00 a.m. at the First Christian Church 1322 Stone Street in Falls City, NE.

Inurnment will be at the Rulo Cemetery in Rulo, NE.


No viewing or visitation is scheduled.



OBITUARY


Richard Quinton Tackett son of Governor Louis Tackett and Virgie Bell (Cundiff) Tackett was born on June 13, 1937 in Parkdale, Arkansas. He was one of ten children born to this union.


Richard lived for years in Oak Grove, Louisiana where he attended school. On February 13, 1972 he was united in marriage to Mary Helen Egner at the Methodist Church in Falls City, NE. To this marriage three children were born.


He and Mary made their home in Falls City, Richard worked various jobs. He worked for Subby’s selling cars, for Missouri Beef, and for Frontier.


Richard owned and operated Tackett’s Café for years. He loved food, singing, his children and grandchildren. Richard loved Christmas he always dressed as Santa or hired someone to come to the café and give candy to the kids.


Due to ongoing illness Richard passed away on Sunday, July 29, 2012 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He had reached the age of 75 years, 1 month, and 16 days. He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, and two sisters.


Those left to mourn his passing are his wife Mary Tackett of Falls City, NE; two daughters, Sherry Grame of Falls City, NE; Shirley Dupree (Sandra Oswald) of Falls City, NE; son Michael Tackett (Tara) of Falls City, NE; twelve grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary (Jodi) Fritz of Falls City, NE; Lessie (Punk) Beckner (Danny) of Falls City, NE; nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
