Obituary



                 Alberta Marie Oestmann daughter of Albert Ernst Oestmann and Addie Caroline (Sodman) Oestmann was born  at Rohrs five miles west of Auburn, NE on November 3, 1919. She was one of two children born to this union.



             Alberta was raised in the Rohrs and Johnson areas. She attended District 80 Rohrs Country school and graduated from Auburn High School. She went on to earn a degree in cosmetology at the Lincoln Beauty Academy.



Alberta was united in marriage to Andrew John Eckhoff on August 10, 1941 at St. Matthews Lutheran Church in Johnson, NE. To this union one son, Thomas John was born. He lived only five days and together Andrew and Alberta adopted and raised one son Steven Eckoff.



Alberta worked for herself as a hairdresser and lived in Auburn most of her life. She and Andrew lived in Baton Rouge, LA for three years while Andrew was in the service. Alberta was active member of the Women of the ELCA and member of the Extension Club.



Alberta passed away Thursday, February 17, 2005 at her home in Auburn, NE. She had reached the age of 85 years, 3 months and 15 days.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Andrew, one infant son Thomas John, and a brother Victor Oestmann.



Those left to mourn her passing are her son Steven Eckhoff and special friend Beverly Mann of Auburn, sister-in-law Opal Oestmann of Elkhorn, NE; nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends.
