April Vivian (Howells) Kelly

April Vivian Kelly, 59, of Falls City was brought to peace in the late evening of Friday, January 17, 2025, at her home after a struggling battle with cirrhosis.  She was born on December 19, 1965, in Buffalo, New York to James Jerome and Vivian Marie (Jacobs) Howells.  April was raised in Phoenix, Arizona, but ultimately settled in Nebraska to raise her family. 

April worked at the VA Hospital for 25 years as a Certified Nurse’s Assistant and in the canteen services.  She took pride in her work which also showed up in her hobbies.  April enjoyed working with her hands, crafting, refurbishing and restoration, and collecting antiques and trinkets.  What most would view as disposable, she saw the value which gives one an idea of her character.  April was an avid animal lover and enjoyed everything beautiful from gardening, traveling, and her relationship with her Lord and Savior. Her family will forever be connected with April with the understanding that ties are not meant to be broken.  As twisted as Celtic Knots, the ends always come together to create unison.  When the time comes when entwined, the knot will be fused forever.

April is survived by her children: Kristin Howells of Lincoln, Alaina Kelly of Lincoln, Shawn Kelly of Falls City, grandchildren: Chloe Pratt, Jase Conn, Heaven Mattson, Robert Mattson Jr., and Serenity Mattson; her brother Glenn Howells and wife Taresa of Buffalo, NY; her sister Kimberly Taberski of Phoenix, AZ; and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 24, 2025, at the Good News Assembly of God Church in Falls City, Nebraska with Pastor Tim Boatright officiating.

Memorial contributions may be given to the family’s choice with a later designation.
