OBITUARY Audrey Mae Helms daughter of David Andrew McMann and Rosetta Belle Parker was born December 19, 1916 in rural Brownville, NE. She was one of twelve children born to this union. Audrey attended Brownville rural school up through the tenth grade. On June 9, 1935 Audrey was married to Howard Helms in Rockport, MO. Five sons were born to this marriage. The couple lived around the Julian area for the first few years of their marriage, until they moved to Auburn, where they spent the remainder of there lives. Audrey worked for Dr. Brown when the couple first moved to Auburn. She also worked at the Deb and Danny Dare Sewing factory for 15 years. In 1958 she began working for the Campbell Soup Co. in Tecumseh, NE, she worked there for 22 years.Audrey enjoyed music, dancing, crocheting, and her horses.

Due to failing health Audrey entered Nemaha County Good Samaritan in February of 1998. It is there that on Saturday, March 19, 2005 she passed away having reached the age of 88 years. She was preceded in death by her husband Howard, one son Don Helms, seven brothers and four sisters.

Those left to mourn her passing are her sons, Merlin Helms and wife Barbara of Shenandoah, IA; Terry Helms and wife Gloria of Cook, NE; Ross Helms and special friend Angela of Auburn, NE; Rick Helms and wife Laddie of Auburn, NE; 14 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
