Betsey G. Thompson, age 88, of Oshkosh, NE, formerly of Auburn, NE. Passed away Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at the Garden County Nursing Home in Oshkosh, NE. A funeral service for Betsey Thompson will be held Saturday, November 23, at 2:00 p.m. at the Hall Funeral Chapel in Auburn, NE. Burial will follow at the Tecumseh Cemetery in Tecumseh, NE.

Visitation will be Saturday, November 23, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Hall Funeral Chapel in Auburn.

Betsey Gean Van Winkle daughter of Marcus Albert Van Winkle and Lou May (Thompson) Van Winkle was born on June 26, 1925 in Tecumseh, NE. She was one of four children born to this union.

Betsey was raised in Tecumseh, on May 19, 1948 she was united in marriage to R.C. Thompson in Tecumseh, NE. To this marriage five children were born.

Betsey lived in Auburn, NE for thirty-seven years. She worked for McComas in Nebraska City, and the Dan & Deb Sewing Factory in Auburn retiring in 1985. After retirement she was active with the Senior Citizens and was a member of the Widows Club.

She moved to Oshkosh, NE and due to ill health entered the Garden County Nursing Home in Oshkosh. It is there that she passed away having reached the age of 88 years, 4 months, 24 days.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters and one brother, daughter Margo Leeper, two grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

Betsey is survived by her children, Terry Thompson and wife June of Wilber, NE; Arthur Thompson and wife Cecilia of Cook, NE; Rocky Thompson of Auburn, NE; Fabian Thompson and wife Brenda of Oshkosh, NE; 8 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
