Betty Makovicka Obituary
Betty L. Makovicka, age 80, of Brock, NE passed away Wednesday, October 8, at the St. Elizabeth Regional Medical Center in Lincoln, NE. A funeral service for Betty Makovicka will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, October 11, 2014 at the Hall Funeral Chapel in Auburn, NE. Burial will follow at the Lafayette Cemetery near Brock.
Visitation and viewing is scheduled for one hour before the funeral on Saturday.

Betty L. Makovicka
Betty Lou Morris daughter of John Bernard Morris and Dora May (Snyder) Morris was born on July 22, 1934 in Nebraska City, NE. She was one of nine children born to this union.
Betty was raised in Brock and attended Brock High School. She was united in marriage to Robert D. Makovicka on October 15, 1954 in Holton, KS.
The couple lived in Auburn, where Bob was employed by Safe-Way Grocery. Due to Bob’s work the couple left the area in 1968. They made their home in Council Bluffs, IA; Omaha, LaVista, and Excelsior Springs, MO, before returning to Brock in the year 2000. Together Bob and Betty raised two daughters.
Betty enjoyed sewing, quilting, and flower gardening. She liked to play the slots at the casino and treasured time spent fishing with her grandson and being outdoors.
Due to ill health Betty entered St. Elizabeth Regional Medical Center and it is there that on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 Betty passed away. She had reached the age of 80 years, 2 months, and 16 days. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, brothers, Kenneth Morris, Pete Morris, and Eddie Morris, and sisters Verda Combs, Myrtle Russell, and Faye Harrington.
She is survived by her husband of nearly 60 years, Robert Makovicka of Brock, NE; daughters Pamela Sue Morris of Independence, MO; Tammy Whitmire and husband Mark of Excelsior Springs, MO; two brothers Merle Morris and wife Willa of Auburn, NE; Larry Morris and wife Beth of Goldsboro, NC; grandchildren, Charity, Bethany, Del and Taylor Morris , Kristi McIntosh, and Brian (Alison) Williams great-grandchildren, Tre' Williams, Jaden, Jaxson, and Jace Morris, Dylan, Darius, and Ashlo'n McItosh, and Rylee Williams, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
