Brenda Raney Obituary
Brenda A. Raney, age 48, of Falls City, NE, passed away Tuesday, July 14, at the Community Medical Center in Falls City. A graveside memorial service will be held Saturday, July 18, at 10: 30 a.m. at St. Mark’s Lutheran Cemetery south of Verdon, NE.
No viewing, visitation will be Friday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Hall Funeral Home in Falls City. Family will greet friends from 6 to 8.
Obituary
Brenda Ann Jorn daughter of Paul E. Jorn Sr. and Rose (James) Jorn was born on February 21, 1967 in Auburn, NE. She was one of four children born to this union.
Brenda was raised in Verdon and graduated from Dawson-Verdon High School in 1985. She then attended Peru State College for two years after high school. In her school days she participated in sports. She especially enjoyed playing softball for the Dawson-Verdon summer league.
She was united in marriage to John Raney on June 28, 2002 in Falls City.
She raised three children, Jenny, Victor and Jesse.
She worked at Careage Estates nursing home for more than twenty years as a CNA. Brenda loved her work, she was very dedicated to the care of the residents. She was known for always talking to everyone she knew around town. Always interested in how they were doing, and what was new.
Brenda was failing in health, and on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 she passed away at the Community Medical Center in Falls City, she had reached the age of 48 years, 4 months, and 23 days. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, and her father Paul Jorn Sr.
She is survived by her husband John Raney of Falls City, NE; children Jenny Henson of Olathe, KS; Victor Henson of Falls City, NE; and Jesse Raney of Falls City, NE; mother Rose Gish of Onalaska, WA; siblings, Connie Arthurs of WA; Paul Jorn Jr. (Debbie) of Humboldt, NE; Chris Jorn of Table Rock, NE; other relatives and friends.
