Charles W. Werner, age 82, of Falls City, NE. Passed away Saturday, November 26, 2005 at the Carriage Estates Nursing Home in Falls City, NE. A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, November 29, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Marks Luntheran Church in rural Verdon, NE. A Committal service will follow at the St. Marks Cemetery.
A Visitation is scheduled for Monday November 28, 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Hall Funeral Home in Falls City, NE.
He is survived by his wife Caroline Werner of Falls City, NE; children Richard Werner and wife Roxanne of Sabetha, KS; Roger Werner and wife Rhonda of Lincoln, NE; step-children Margaret Ramsey and husband Terry of Falls City, NE; Richard Strecker and wife Carol of Verdon, NE; 5 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, 5 step-great-grandchildren, brother Edwin Werner and wife Norma of Salem, NE; sisters Dorothy Vollmer and husband Harold of Falls City, NE; Anita Pickard of Verdon, NE; sister-in-law Colleen Werner of Salem, NE;

OBITUARY Charles William Werner Charles William Werner son of Charles Fredrick Werner and Elizabeth (Wilhelm) Werner was born December 25, 1922 in Salem, NE. He was one of five children born to this union. Charles was baptized in to the Lutheran Faith on February 11, 1923 at St Mark’s Lutheran Church by Pastor George Mortonsin. And was later Confirmed by Pastor Joseph Miller at St. Mark’s on March 21, 1937. Charles remained a life long member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church. He attended Cornfield College District 79 rural school and graduated from Salem High School in1941. Charles was united in marriage to Betty Brown in 1953. Later on May 9, 1970 Charles was united in marriage to Caroline Karst Strecker together they raised 4 children. He enjoyed fishing and hunting raccoons, and working with wood. Charles owned and operated the Twilight Tavern in Verdon for many years. Due to Failing Health in the last year Charles entered the Carriage Estates Nursing Facility in Falls City, NE on February 25, 2005 and it is there that on Saturday,November 26, 2005 he passed away having reached the age of 82. he was preceded in death by his parents, brother Robert Werner and brother-in-law Richard Pickard. Those left to mourn his passing are his wife Caroline Werner of Falls City, NE; Children Richard Werner and wife Roxanne of Sabetha, KS; Roger Werner and wife Rhonda of Lincoln, NE; Step-children Margaret Ramsey and husband Terry of Falls City, NE; Richard Strecker and wife Carol of Verdon, NE; 5 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, 5 step-great grandchildren, brother Edwin Werner and wife Norma of Salem, NE; sisters Dorothy Vollmer and Husband Harold of Falls City, NE; Anita Pickard of Verdon, NE; sister-in-law Colleen Werner of Salem, NE; nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends.i
