Cheri Yvonne (Freeman) Adams

Cheri Yvonne Adams, 67, formerly of Falls City, Nebraska, was born on February 28, 1954, in North Kansas City, Missouri, to Clarence Edward and Grace Ella (Baker) Freeman.  She spent her childhood years with her family in Craig, Missouri where she attended school and graduated from Craig High School with the class of 1972.  On November 3, 1989, Cheri was united in marriage to Robert “Sonny” Adams in Hiawatha, Kansas.  The couple made their home in Falls City before Sonny passed away on June 19, 1994.  Cheri continued to live in Falls City where she worked as the manager of the Check-In Motel.  Cheri was a lifetime member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Falls City and a member of the Christian Church.

Cheri passed away on Thursday, April 8, 2021, at the Prestige Care Center in Nebraska City, Nebraska.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert “Sonny” Adams, a sister Caroline Freeman and step-daughters Darla Gibson and Kristy Korte.

Cheri is survived by her daughter Maria Bomar of Nebraska City, NE; step-son Mike Adams and wife Sheila of Kingman, AZ; 5 grandchildren: Jordyn, Logan, Cody, Ashley and Adam; 5 great-grandchildren; a sister Cathy Altena and husband Randy of Mound City, MO; brothers: Dennis Schutt and wife Kris of New Market, IA; Bill Freeman of Cassville, MO; Rick Freeman and wife Gail of Mound City, MO; and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 19, 2021, at the First Christian Church, 1322 Stone Street in Falls City, Nebraska with Reverend Fay Ann Blaylock officiating.  A livestream broadcast of Cheri’s services is available on the Hall Funeral Chapel Facebook page as well as a link to the service at the bottom of her webpage.  

Private Family Inurnment will be at the Rulo Cemetery in Rulo at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be given to the family’s choice with a later designation.
