Clyle Alfred LaVigne, 88, of Johnson, Nebraska was born on February 24, 1929 in Roca, Nebraska to Paul and Mildred (Lockwood) LaVigne. He was raised on a farm near Brock, Nebraska and graduated from Brock High School. On September 5, 1950, Clyle was united in marriage to Erma Faye Gaylord in Nebraska City, Nebraska. To this union four children, Gary, Elaine, Sandra and Greg were born. The couple raised their family in the Johnson and Brock communities. Clyle was a lifelong farmer. He enjoyed dancing, farming, and woodworking. Clyle was known for his various pictures and furniture that he made out of wood.
Clyle passed away on Thursday, November 30, 2017, at Bryan LGH Medical Center East in Lincoln, Nebraska having reached the age of eighty-eight years, nine months, and six days. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Erma Faye, and sons Greg and Gary LaVigne.
Clyle is survived by daughters: Elaine Burt of Lincoln, NE; Sandra (Owen) Knippelmeyer of Lincoln, NE; grandchildren: Paul (Sally) LaVigne, Ryan (Erica) LaVigne, Vanessa (Josh) Lefler, Alicia (Chris) Aue, Jared Burt, Brenda Knippelmeyer and Doug Knott, Brian (Jillian) Knippelmeyer, and Cole and Sydney LaVigne; great-grandchildren: Garrett and Adison LaVigne, Caden and Rylee Aue, Baylee Knott, and Avery Knippelmeyer; a brother Jerry (Bette) LaVigne of Brock, NE; former daughter-in-law Beverly De Buhr of Auburn, NE; and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 2, 2017, at The Hall Funeral Chapel in Auburn, Nebraska with Carla Patterson officiating.
Interment will be at the Glenrock Cemetery near Brock, Nebraska.
Memorial contributions may be given to the family’s choice with a later designation.
