Daniel Harlan Grable

Daniel Harlan Grable, 60, of Auburn, Nebraska was born on August 29, 1962, in Auburn, Nebraska to Harlan and Bernice (Oetjen) Grable.  He was baptized on October 28, 1962 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Auburn and later confirmed on April 3, 1977.  Daniel received his schooling in Auburn and graduated from Auburn High School.  After graduation, he served his country in the Army National Guard. Daniel worked for Campbell’s Soup in Tecumseh for many years and for North Cleaners.  He later worked for Cargill in Nebraska City until his health began to decline.  Daniel was a lifetime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Auburn.

Daniel passed away on Saturday, April 22, 2023, at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Auburn, Nebraska having reached the earthly age of sixty years, seven months, and twenty-four days.  He was preceded in death by his father Harlan, brother Wayne, and grandparents Carl & Hilda Grable and Fritz & Viola Oetjen.

Daniel is survived by his mother Bernice Grable of Auburn, brothers: David Grable and his wife Marlene of Nebraska City, NE; Roger Grable and his wife Sherry of Johnson, NE; Dennis Grable of rural Auburn, NE; sister-in-law Wendy Grable of Waverly, NE; and many other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 27, 2023, at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Auburn, Nebraska with Pastor Ken Miller officiating. Interment will immediately follow at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery in Auburn.

Visitation will be held from 9 a.m.-8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at The Hall Funeral Chapel, 707 15th Street in Auburn with family greeting friends from 6-8 p.m.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Auburn Fire Department in memory of Daniel.
