David Merrill Obituary
David G. Merrill, age 65, of Falls City, NE passed away Friday, June 20, at the Falls City Health Care in Falls City, NE. A funeral service for David Merrill will be Tuesday, June 24th at 10:30 a.m. the Northridge Church in Falls City, NE. A luncheon will follow the church service and then burial at the Morrill Cemetery in Morrill, KS.
Visitation is scheduled for Monday, June 23, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Hall Funeral Home in Falls City.
Obituary
David George Merrill son of George Merrill and Dona Ruth (Cage) Merrill was born on March 15, 1949 in Denver, CO. He was one of five children born to this union.
David attended school on the Ute Indian Reservation and graduated from Ignacio High School. After graduation he attended Fort Lewis College in Durango for one year.
He was united in marriage to Patricia Voter April 6th 1974 in Castle Rock Colorado. To this marriage two daughters were born. After marriage they lived in Denver for a few years before moving to Hamlin, KS.
David’s life long struggles with Marfan Syndrome, a debilitating disease really effected his health. David’s disability did not keep him from staying positive, kidding around with his friends and family and living life.
They moved to Hiawatha, KS where the family lived until moving to Falls City in 2005. His faith and family were David’s strength. In May of 2014 David was taken the Bryan LGH West in Lincoln, NE and then transferred back to Falls City. In June he entered the Falls City Health Care Facility. It is there that on Friday, June 20, 2014 David passed away he had reached the age of 65 years, 3 months and 5 days. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.
David is survived by his wife Pat Merrill of Falls City, NE; daughters Heather Merrill of Falls City, NE; Holly Merrill of Lincoln, NE; one grandson Phoenix Pfohl of Lincoln, NE, one niece, one nephew, cousins, other relatives and friends.
