Donald H. Hopp, age 87, of Talmage, NE, passed away Saturday, August 2, 2014 at the Ambassador Care Facility in Nebraska City. A funeral service for Donald Hopp will be held Friday, August 8, at 10:30 a.m. at the Zion United Church of Christ 302 Carol Street Talmage, NE. burial will follow the service at the St. John’s (McWilliams) Cemetery near Talmage.
Visitation will be Thursday, August 7, from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the church with family greeting friends from 6-8

Obituary:
Donald Harry Hopp adopted son of Harry C. Hopp and Emma L. C. (Schacht) Hopp was born on August 31, 1926 in Kansas City, MO. Donald spent all his life on the farm. He graduated from Talmage High School in 1944 and observed his 70 year alumni this past spring.
Don was united in marriage to Glenis Holtgrewe on June 16, 1948. To this marriage two sons were born.
He was a member of Zion United Church of Christ where he served on the Church Board and was a member of the church choir and church quartet, St. John’s (McWilliams) Cemetery Board. He was a past president and board member of Otoe County Farm Bureau, former UCT member, past member of Fire District Board, served on District 73 country school board where he attended 1st thru 8th grade. Don’s hobbies were collecting coins and playing cards. He enjoyed square dancing, and traveling the United States. He also coached pint, peewee and midget summer baseball.
Due to ill health Don entered the Ambassador in Nebraska City and it is there that on Saturday, August 2, 2014 he passed away having reached the age of 87 years 11 months and 2 days. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Don is survived by his wife Glenis of Talmage, NE; two sons, Gerald Hopp and wife Kathy of Falls City, NE; Mark Hopp and wife Julie of Dunbar, NE; four grandsons Andrew Hopp and wife Stephanie of Gretna, NE; Christopher Hopp of Omaha, NE; Brian Hopp and wife Jamie of Lincoln, NE; and David Hopp and Fiancee’ Ally of Omaha, NE; great grandchildren, Ethan Hopp, Ashleigh Hopp, Alaina Hopp, and Lincoln Hopp, brother-in-law Virgil Holtgrewe and wife Carol of Estes Park, CO; their daughters Claire Holtgrewe and Janet Ostrom and husband Terry, and Janet’s children Tyler and Lance Ostrom, other relatives and many friends.
