Dorothy Mae Cash

Dorothy M. Cash, age 87 formerly of Auburn, NE, passed away on Thursday, April 09, 2015 at the Golden Living Care Facility in Nebraska City. A funeral service for Dorothy Cash will be held Monday, April 13, at 2:00 p.m. at the Hall Funeral Chapel in Auburn, NE. Burial will follow at the Pawnee City Cemetery in Pawnee City, NE.

Visitation will be Sunday, April 12, from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. with family greeting friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Hall Funeral Chapel in Auburn.

Obituary

Dorothy Mae Nelson daughter of Fred Nelson and Maude Crofutt was born on February 25, 1928 in Alliance, NE.
She was raised on a farm outside of Brady, Nebraska by Edith and Alfred Bergstrom. She graduated from Curtis High School and National Business Institute in Lincoln, NE.
While working in Lincoln she met Wayne Cash. The couple  were united in marriage on June 25, 1948 at the Baptist Church in Pawnee City, NE. They lived in western Iowa and southeast Nebraska.
She was a homemaker who loved to sew, quilt, bake, camp, and bowl. Her greatest joy was her family. She was a member of the Rebekahs, Order of Eastern Star, and Prairie Union Baptist Church.
She lived in Auburn, NE for many years. Dorothy, due to ongoing illness entered the Golden Living Care Center in Nebraska City, NE. It is there that on Thursday, April 9, 2015 Dorothy passed away. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, two children, one great-grandchild and her husband Wayne.
She is survived by her children, Penny Hodges (Charles) of Carson, IA; Wayne Cash Jr. of Thailand; Patrick Cash of Texas; Susan Havlicek (Andy) of McCook, NE; Joyce Oetjen of Walton, NE; Jamie Dueker of Dallas, TX; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
