Dorothy Larkin Obituary

Dorothy M. (Greenleaf) Larkin, 85, of Memphis, TN died peacefully July 8, 2004, at St. Frances Hospital in Memphis followed by a severe stroke. She was surrounded by family members.

Mrs. Larkin, daughter of Silas A. and Mary (O'Brien) Greenleaf was born April 22, 1919 In Marblehead, Mass. She was one of 4 children.

She graduated from Marblehead High School and married classmate
Vincent J. Larkin on March 8, 1941. Six children were born to this marriage. The couple moved while in military service, finally settling in Memphis, TN for a time and then Auburn Nebraska. She moved back to Memphis after her husbands death.

Mrs. Larkin was a homemaker and worked as bookkeeper in their family
businesses. She was a member of the Catholic Church Of The Resurrection
in Memphis at the time of her death. She was a member and past president of the American Legion Auxiliary in Auburn, Nebraska.

She leaves 6 children, Vincent J. Larkin, Jr. and wife Edith of Fresno, CA; Marianne Malone and husband Jerry of Batesville, AR; Dorothy Williams of Memphis, TN; James G. Larkin and wife Connie of Atlanta,GA; Michael P. Larkin and wife Martha of Buckner, MO; and Kathleen Brown and husband Steve of Rawlins, WY; one sister Frances Gilhooley of Lynn, MA; 16 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by husband, Vincent J. Larkin, and two sisters.

A funeral mass will be held on Saturday at 1:00 p.m at the Catholic Church Of The Resurrection in Memphis. Father Ernie DeBlasio will officiate.

Burial will be held in Auburn, Nebraska, with Hall Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
