Elsie M. Barker, age 103, of Shubert, NE, passed away Friday, August 30, at Careage Estates in Falls City, NE. A funeral for Elsie M. Barker will be held Wednesday, September 4, at 10:30 a.m. at the Shubert Christian Church in Shubert, NE. burial will follow at the Prairie Union Cemetery in rural Shubert
Visitation will be Tuesday, September 3, from 12:00 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Hall Funeral Home in Falls City, NE. A rosary for Elsie will be 7:00 p.m. at the Hall Funeral Home in Falls City.
Obituary
Elsie Myrtle Shubert daughter of Edward M. Shubert and Lillie (Hall) Shubert was born on October 16, 1909 in Shubert, NE. She was one of two children born to this marriage.
She was united in marriage to Jesse Barker on November 29, 1926 in Falls City, NE. To this marriage two children were born.
Elsie was a lifetime member of the Shubert Christian Church, raised chickens, volunteered for the Red Cross Blood Mobile, she enjoyed knitting and crocheting. Elsie was a member of the McCandless Club.
Due to ill health she entered Careage Estates in Falls City. It is there that she passed away having reached the age of 103 years, 10 months, and 14 days. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Claude, and husband Jesse in 2006.
She is survived by her children, daughter Audrey (Betty) Curbow of Vancouver, WA; son Jeff Barker (Mary) of Shubert, NE; 8 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great grandchildren.other relatives and friends.
Memorials may be given to Shubert Christian Church or Sacred Heart Endowment
Services entrusted to Hall Funeral Homes of Auburn and Falls City.
