Gareld Simpson Obituary

Gary D. Simpson, 71, of Falls City, NE passed away on Saturday, August 27, 2011 at Falls City Care Center. A viewing and visitation will be held Monday, August 29, 2011 from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Hall Funeral Home in Falls City. The family will greet friends from 6:30 to 8:00 at the funeral home. Cremation will follow and a private service will be held at a later date.

Gary was born December 16, 1939 to Leonard and Gertrude (Botkins) Simpson in St. Joseph, Missouri. Gary served in the United States Army from 1960 to 1963, spending most of his time stationed in Alaska. He married, Adelia Mackey, June 28, 1974 in Falls City, Nebraska. He worked out of St. Joseph, Missouri for 13 years as a heavy equipment operator before retiring from Airlanco as a welder after 20 years.

Gary is survived by his wife of 37 years, Adelia of the home; children, Kim (Pat) Tilton of White Cloud, KS, Traci (Richard) Willis of Blythdale, MO, Shannon (Katy Marteny) Simpson of Lincoln, NE and Mike (Krystal) Simpson of Falls City, NE; step-children, Margaret (Larry) Rose of Falls City, NE, Leonard (Karen) Collins of Omaha, NE and Vicki Collins of Kansas City, MO; numerous grandchildren; three sisters, Joyce Clary of Troy, KS, Debbie (Greg) Boos of Wathena, KS and Sandy Lehr of St. Joseph, MO; two brothers, Jerry (Joan) Simpson of Falls City, NE and Mike (Barbara) Simpson of Savannah, GA and many other relatives and friends. Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Gertrude and a sister, Rhonda Waggoner.
