Gary Frederick Hunker

Gary Frederick Hunker, 83, of Falls City, NE passed away Thursday, December 31, 2020 in Lincoln, NE. Gary was born April 1, 1937 on a farm NW of Rulo, NE to Fred and Helen (Watton) Hunker. He grew up on the farm and attended Sacred Heart Catholic school and graduated from Falls City High School in 1955. While on the farm he enjoyed raising livestock and farming. He was an excellent carpenter and built the altars at St. Ann’s, St. Mary’s and Immaculate Conception Catholic churches Shubert, Arago, and Rulo, NE respectively. Gary later moved to Falls City after he retired from farming with his mother, Helen.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents.  He is survived by many cousins and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 2:00 PM, Tuesday, January 5, 2020 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with Fr. David Oldham and Fr. Lawrence Stoley officiating. The funeral mass will be lived streamed on the church’s Facebook page.
Interment will be in the Falls City Catholic Cemetery.
A Rosary will be recited 7:00 PM, Monday, January 4, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Falls City. 
Visitation will be from 12:00 PM to 5:30 PM, Monday, January 4, at the Hall Funeral Home in Falls City, NE.
In lieu of flowers memorial are suggested to be given directly to the Sacred Heart Endowment Fund.
