OBITUARY HAROLD (RED) ALLEN
Harold Allen son of Willard Allen and Ella (Williams) Allen was born September 24, 1911 in rural Nemaha County. He was one of five children. He attended Nemaha rural school up thru the 8th grade; On May 8, 1933 he was united in marriage to Helen Vanlora Millhouse at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Auburn, Nebraska. To this union seven children were born. After their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Allen lived on a farm in Nemaha, Nebraska. In 1948, they moved to Missouri and in 1961 they returned to Nemaha County. In 1974 they moved to Auburn. Red as most people new him was a long time member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Red worked in the Farming Industry his entire life he drove a rock and lime truck for Rohr’s and Parker for years. Red’s wife Helen passed away on March 20, 1994 and three years after that in 1997 due to failing health Red entered Nemaha County Good Samaritan Center in Auburn, NE. On Thursday, May 12, 2005 Red passed away having reached 93 years of age. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Helen, two brothers Elmer and Carl. Those left to mourn his passing are his seven children, Francelia Henne and husband Gerald of Nebraska City, NE; Carlene Mattox and husband Harley from Moberly, MO; Barbara Walker of Falls City, NE; James Allen and wife Charlotte of Tecumseh, NE; Mary Haack and husband Raymond of Johnson, NE; Ray Allen and wife Jackie of Ryndon, NV; Helen Ballue and Husband Robert of Overton, NE; two brothers Leonard Allen of Nemaha, NE; and Merle Allen and wife Gwendolyn, of Nemaha, NE; 33 grandchildren, 67 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends.
