Helen Rose (Margaret) Maise, 95 passed away on Tuesday, November 2, 2004 at the Falls City Care Center.
She was born Yoland Massi November 17, 1908 in Mt. Kisco, New York to Giovanni and Antonia Fatatie Massi.
She came to Falls City, Nebraska in 1912 on the Orphan train. She was taken in by several families in the Falls City area before coming to live in 1914 with Elizabeth Murphy and her brother Pat on their family farm west of Rulo, Nebraska. Margaret continued to live with the Murphy's until Elizabeth's death in 1967.
Margaret was a resident of Marie Hoel nursing Home until 1976. From 1976 to the present day she has been a resident of Falls City Care Center.
Margaret attended District 53 Red Brick Schoolhouse and was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church Choir. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, bingo and singing her favorite tune "Little Brown Jug".
Margaret was never adopted by the Murphy family and little information is known about Margaret's birth parents and siblings - but was always considered part of the Murphy family. She is survived by special friends Ed and Marilyn Murphy of Rulo. Margaret was preceded in death by her sister Elizabeth (Betty) Wirth Fredlake.
