Helen E. Schneider

Helen E. Schneider, age 95, of Auburn, NE, passed away Friday, August 21, 2015 at the Good Samaritan Society in Auburn. A Funeral Service for Helen E. Schneider will be held Monday, August 24, at 11:00 a.m. at the Brock Methodist Church in Brock, NE. burial will follow at the Sheridan West Cemetery near Auburn, NE.

There will be no visitation, friends and family may view and sign the register one hour prior to the funeral at the church.

Obit:
Helen E. Schneider, daughter of Ernest Young and Clara (Adams) Young, was born at Summerfield, KS on August 21, 1920. She attended school and graduated Oketo, KS High School. During her youth she worked at her parents grocery stores in Marietta and Oketo. Helen was baptized and a lifelong member of the Methodist Church. Helen was married to Ervin J. Schneider on June 26, 1942 while he was in the military at Joplin, MO. Their first son Richard was born prior to EJ’s discharge. They returned to make their home in Oketo and Marysville. Two more sons, Dennis and Bruce were born at this time.

Helen worked for a period of time in Marysville but mostly spent her time with her young sons. In 1952 Helen joined her husband in starting their own business in Auburn, NE. She continued to work full time at Schneider OK Tire Store until selling it to their son Richard in 1973. She and EJ moved to Beatrice, NE where she retired to enjoy golfing, gardening, playing bridge, painting and doing pretty handwork. She traveled the world with EJ and enjoyed the winters at their condo in Palm Springs, CA.

Preceding Helen in death were her parents, her husband, one sister, Marilyn Brooks and daughter-in-law Kathy. Surviving are her three sons

Grandchildren; Brett (Amy) Schneider of Lenexa, KS; Suzanne (Pat) LeFbvre of Lincoln, NE; Rachel (Jim) Mozena of Leawood, KS; Mark (Erin) Schneider of Lenexa, KS; Jeff (Genette) Schneider of White Lake, MI; Brian (Courtney) Schneider of Papillion, NE; Michelle (Josh) Mueller of Columbus, NE; Shelley (Dan) McArthur of Lake Orion, MI. Great-Grandchildren; Drew and Quinn Mozena; Matthew, Evan, Jillian, Sofia Schneider; Jon and James Bartholomew; Olivia, Jack, Evelyn Schneider; Preston & Grayson Schneider and Skylar McArthur. One brother, Robert Young (Mary Darlene) of Marysville, KS; Two sisters Bertha (Bill) Hellmer of Oketo, KS and Ruth Rohmeyer of Summerfield, KS; other relatives and many friends.
