Herbert Blackwell Obituary
Herbert Orrin Blackwell, age 92 of Peru, NE passed away Monday, August 22, at the Memorial Harmon Hospital in Houston, TX. Services for Herbert Blackwell will be held Friday, August 26, at 10:00 a.m. at the Hall Funeral Chapel in Auburn. Interment will follow at the Mt. Vernon Cemetery in Peru.
Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, August 25 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m at the Hall Funeral Chapel.
He is survived by his children Ronald Blackwell and companion Kathy of Rosharon, TX; Alan Blackwell and wife Rena of North Platte, NE and Andrew Blackwell of Peru, NE and three granddaughters.
Military Rites will be given by: Peru VFW #7299 and American Legion Post #23 of Auburn.
Hall Funeral Chapel in Auburn, NE is in charge of arrangements for Herbert Blackwell.

OBITUARY
Herbert Orrin Blackwell
Herbert Orrin Blackwell, son of Nancy Elizabeth (Smith) and Andrew Jackson Blackwell, was born in Stickney, MO on December 9, 1912. He was one of four children born to this marriage.
He received his education in Missouri. In 1943 Herbert entered the United States Navy where he reached the rank of Seaman 1st Class. He served his country in WWII and was then honorably discharged in 1945.
August 2, 1935 he was united in marriage to Mary M. Bentley in Hiawatha, Kansas. Together they raised three sons. After their marriage, Herb and Mary lived in various towns along the Missouri River where Herb was employed. Herbert and Mary moved to Auburn in 1961 and then moved to Peru in 1963. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, the Royal Arch Masons and Order of the Eastern Star.
Herbert had moved to Texas to be closer to his son Ron and it was there that he passed away having reached the age of 92 years, 8 months and 13 days. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Mary who passed away May 29, 1999 and his 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
Herbert is survived by his children Ronald Blackwell and companion Kathy of Rosharon, TX; Alan Blackwell and wife Rena of North Platte, NE and Andrew Blackwell of Peru, NE; three granddaughters; many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
