Jesse D. James, age 64, of Shubert, NE, passed away Sunday, December 22, at his home in Shubert, NE. His body was directly cremated, and there will be a private family memorial service at a later date.
Visitation is scheduled for Friday, December 27, form 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Hall Funeral Home in Falls City, NE.

Jesse D. James son of Harlan James and Kathryn (Sargent) Hoy was born on October 21, 1949 in Liberty, MO. Jesse was raised in Nebraska mainly Nehawka, Union, and Murray. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for various construction companies over the years. Jesse made his home in Shubert, NE where he has lived for the past 34 years.
In 2006 he was united in marriage to Elaine Kelley. Jesse loved the outdoors, mushroom hunting, fishing, and gardening. He played the guitar and was a handy carpenter.
Jesse had been fighting cancer for the past few years, due to this illness he entered hospice and on Sunday, December 22, 2013 he passed away at his home in Shubert. He had reached the age of 64 years, 2 months, and 1 day. He was preceded in death by his parents, step-father Bob Hoy, sister Viola Sandoval, brothers, Lloyd Murphy Jr., and Randy James.
He is survived by his wife Elaine Kelley of Shubert, NE; one son Jeffrey James, brothers and sisters, Billy Murphy, Judy Cochran, Kalina Strode, Bobbie Schroder, Leslie Hoy, Robert (Scott) Hoy, Kelly Waggoner, step brothers and sisters, Diana Perez, Roger Hoy, Rocky Hoy, Maryann Mendez, Terry Hoy, and Orville Hoy, special godsons, Jonathan and James Kirkendall, other relatives and friends.
Memorial may be given in his honor to the family.
