Jesse Nichols Obituary
Jesse A. Nichols, age 72, of Nemaha, NE, passed away Sunday, August 16, at his home in Nemaha. A funeral service for Jesse A. Nichols will be held Friday, August 21, at 10:30 a.m. at the Hall Funeral Chapel in Auburn, NE. burial will follow at the Nemaha Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Hall Funeral Chapel in Auburn. Family will greet friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
OBITUARY
Jesse Allen Nichols son of Roy Nichols and Marjorie (Ford) Nichols was born on July 25, 1943 in Weeping Water, NE. He was one of fourteen children born to this union.
As a child Jesse’s family moved to Brownville, Nebraska where he attended the Happy Hollow School. The family then moved to Nemaha where he graduated in 1962. He was united in marriage to Pamela Eltiste on July 10, 1967, they later divorced. To this marriage four daughters were born.
Jesse worked driving trucks in his younger years and in 1976 he went to work for NPPD in Brownville. Jesse worked as a mechanic for maintenance and later as a procedure writer. Before and after retirement Jesse also did a lot of contracting work procedure writing.
On July 25, 1982 he was united in marriage to Karen (Kehr) Tanner in Nemaha, NE. He and Karen loved to camp and travel. Jesse also enjoyed bowling, riding ATV’s with his friends and fishing.
After a short battle with cancer Jesse passed away on August 16, 2015 at his home in Nemaha surround by his family. He had reached the age of 72 years, and 22 days. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother Bob Nichols.
Those left to mourn his passing are his wife Karen Nichols of Nemaha, NE; daughters, Kathrena Dettmann (Tim) of Avoca, NE; Kimberly Nichols of Lincoln, NE; Krystal Nickels (Troy) of Johnson, NE; Kandace Nichols of Lincoln, NE; Step-sons Kurt Tanner (Kim) of Nemaha, NE; Kevin Tanner (Christy) of Auburn, NE; grandchildren, Logan, Cole, Katie, Shay, Wyatt, Sydnee, Hallee, Presley, step-grandchildren, Karla, Eric, Drew, Ryan and Morgan; siblings, Harold Nichols (Dorothy) of Auburn, NE; Delores Hall (Jack) of Wimberly, TX; Gordon Nichols (Linda) of Peoria, AZ; Claude Nichols (Shirley) of Auburn, NE; Joe Nichols of Clarinda, IA; Doris Trierweiler (Mark) of Coeburn, VA; David Nichols of Lincoln, NE; Dorothy Olson (Doug) of Columbus, NE; Debbie Counts of Haysi, VA; Tom Nichols of Clarinda, IA; Deanna Douglas of Columbus, NE; Tim Nichols (Shelly) of Auburn, NE. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
