John Joseph Huber

John Joseph Huber, 93, of Falls City was born on October 9, 1927 in rural Rulo, Nebraska to tenant farmers Carl and Janet (Mooney) Huber. He attended grade school at the brick school house west of Rulo and graduated from Falls City High School with the class of 1944.  John was self-employed most of his life, for many years at his one-man real estate business.  He was a cradle Catholic and was united in marriage to Fern E. Keithley on June 22, 1953 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Falls City.  To this union 6 children were born, James, Peggy, Beth, Hope, Jack and Ted.

John passed away on Sunday, November 15, 2020, at his home in Falls City.  He was preceded in death by wife Fern, son James, and siblings: Carl (Bud), Mary White, Janet Rudnick and Joan Fisher.

John is survived by his children: Peggy Kuser and husband David of Auburn, Beth Meyer and husband Mark of Falls City, Hope Schawang of Falls City, Jack Huber of Kansas City, MO; Ted Huber and wife Susan of Kearney, NE; brothers: Ed Huber of Atchison, KS; Ralph Huber and wife Hilda of Colorado Springs, CO; and many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Due to COVID-19, Catholic services are being held privately by the immediate family only.  John’s cremains will be inurned at the Falls City Catholic Cemetery.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the family with a later designation to be made.
