Joyce Loraine McCartney

Joyce Loraine McCartney, age 78, of Falls City, NE, passed away Saturday, May 2, 2015 at the Kansas University Medical Center in Kansas City. A funeral service for Joyce L. McCartney will be held Monday, May 11, at 2:00 p.m. at the Good News Assembly of God Church at 601 Reavis St. in Falls City, NE. burial will follow at the Steele Cemetery in Falls City. A luncheon will be served at 12:00 prior to the funeral at the church.

Friends and family may view and sign the register on Saturday, May 9, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Hall Funeral Home at 2403 Harlan St. Falls City, NE.

Visitation will be at the Good News Assembly of God Church Sunday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. with family greeting friends from 6 to 8.

Joyce Loraine McCartney, born to Lloyd and Margaret VanEno (Barker) on March 16, 1937 in Lansing, Michigan.

Joyce moved to California at eight years old where she was raised by her stepfather Bob Guffin & her mother Margaret. She was united in marriage to Robert Allen McCartney on May 8, 1954 in Los Angeles, CA. Eight children were born in their marriage.

She was a homemaker for most of her life. Before retiring Joyce worked at the Aztec Factory and the hospital  in Falls City. Robert was in the Military and the family moved around.

Due to sudden illness she was taken to University of Kansas Hospital in Kansas City. It is there that on Saturday, May 2, 2015 Joyce went to be with the Lord. She had reached the age of 78 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert, three sons Lloyd (John), Bobby, Russell, and two grandchildren.

Joyce is survived by her children, Mike (Roberta) McCartney of Willis, KS; Jim (Susan) McCartney of Falls City, NE; Cindy Erpelding of Camden Point, MO; Tammie Vice (Kevin) of Highlandville, MO; Angie Wendtlandt (Henry Jr.) of Falls City, NE; 22 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
