Kathleen M. (Portrey) Williams

Kathleen M. Williams, age 89, of Falls City, NE, passed away Monday, December 2, 2013 at the Falls City Health Care Community in Falls City, NE. A funeral mass for Kathleen Williams will be held Thursday, December 5, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Falls City. Burial will follow at the Catholic Cemetery in Falls City.

Visitation will be Wednesday, December 4, from 12- 7 p.m. a Rosary will be held Wednesday at 5 p.m. at the Funeral Home.


Obituary
Kathleen Margaret Portrey daughter of David Portrey and Margaret (Warren) Portrey was born on February 8, 1924 in Falls City, NE.  She was the oldest of ten children.

In her early years her family moved to Pontiac Michigan, later moving to Salem, NE, and then Preston, NE, where she resided until her marriage to Charles Kirkendall.  They were later divorced. She worked at various hospitals in the northwest until settling in Cherokee, Iowa she worked there for 24 years until retirement. She was united in marriage to Earl Williams. Kathleen returned to Falls City where she lived the rest of her life and was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Falls City.

Due to ill health she entered the Falls City Health Care Community in Falls City, NE. It is there that she passed away having reached the age of 89 years, 9 months, and 24 days.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Earl, four brothers, and one sister.

She is survived by her son Larry Kirkendall and wife Joyce of Lincoln, NE; three granddaughters, Christina, Amy, and Becky, brothers and sisters, Ronald Portrey (Barb) of St. Joseph, MO; Dennis Portrey (Charlotte) of Omaha, NE; Betty Massey of Falls City, NE; Patsy Mandery (Roger) of Greenwood, NE; nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
