Larry D. Russell

Larry D. Russell, 60, of Lincoln, Nebraska was born on June 17, 1961 to Harlan and Charlene (Weddle) Russell in Axtell, Kansas.  Larry attended school in Falls City, Nebraska and graduated from Falls City High School in 1979.  After graduation, he worked various jobs in the area.  While working at Keim Trucking in Sabetha, Kansas, he met and married Peggy Havel.  To this union a son, Tyler, was born.  The couple would later divorce.

In 1998, Larry was united in marriage to Virginia Spellmeier of Sabetha, Kansas.  To this union twins, Chad and Abigail, were born and the couple later divorced.  Larry moved to Lincoln, Nebraska with his special friend, Dawn Buss.  Larry passed away on Thursday, September 9, 2021, in Lincoln, Nebraska having reached the earthly age of sixty years, two months and twenty-three days.  He is preceded in death by his father, Harlan, brother Robert and maternal grandmother Edna (Helms) Gerdes.

Larry is survived by his mother Charlene Russell of Falls City, NE; children: Tyler Russell and wife Caelie of Sabetha, KS; Chad and Abigail Russell of Sabetha, KS; grandchildren: Holden and Sawyer Russell of Sabetha, KS; step-daughter Ashley (Havel) Cunningham and her children Braxton and Mackenzie of St. George, KS; and special friend Dawn Buss of Lincoln, NE.

A Graveside Inurnment will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 8, 2021, at the Steele Cemetery in Falls City, Nebraska with Pastor Tim Boatright officiating.

Memorial contributions may be given to the family with a later designation.
