Lois Pike Obituary
Lois Pike, age 90, of Auburn, NE, passed away Friday, May 8, at the Good Samaritan Society in Auburn. A graveside funeral service for Lois Pike will be held Thursday, May 14, at 11:00 a.m. at the Verdon Cemetery near Verdon, NE.
No viewing or visitation is scheduled.
Lois Yvonne Pike daughter of Clarence Ira Houtz and Lois Etta (Llewellyn) Houtz was born on June 18, 1924 in Falls City, NE.
She was raised in Falls City, NE attended school and graduated from Falls City High School.
Lois was united in marriage to Vernon Pike on December 19, 1964 in Ventura, California. They lived in Oxnard, California where she was employed as a secretary at Raytheon Aerospace Company.
After Vernon’s retirement from the U.S. Navy in 1978 the couple moved back to Nebraska making their home in Tecumseh where Vernon worked for the Johnson County Sheriffs department.
Once retiring, they moved to Auburn, NE, Vernon passed away on March 17, 2012. Lois due to poor health moved to the Good Samaritan Society in Auburn. It is there that on Friday, May 8, 2015 she passed away at the age of 90.
She was preceded in death by her parents husband Vernon, and daughter Cathie Parrino.
Lois is survived by her daughters, Linda Avila of Atascadero, CA and Mary Marquez of San Diego, CA; son-in-law Joe Parrino of Auburn, NE; 4 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
