Margaret Watton Obituary

Margaret B. Watton 96, of Omaha formerly of Falls City, NE passed away Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at the Brooke Stone Village Care Facility in Omaha, NE. A funeral mass for Margaret Watton will be held Saturday, July 12, at 10:30 a.m. at the Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Falls City, burial will follow the service at the St. Anne’s Catholic Cemetery near Shubert, NE.

Friends may call at the Hall Funeral Home in Falls City from noon to 6:00 p.m. on July 11.  A rosary will be recited Friday, July 11,  at 7:30 p.m. at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Falls City and the family will receive friends following the rosary.



Obituary

Margaret B. Watton, (formerly of Falls City, NE), passed away July 9, 2014 in Omaha at the age of 96.  Margaret was born November 3, 1917 near Shubert, NE to William and Mana Whitten Kuttler. Margaret was raised on a farm near Shubert, graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1935, attended Peru State College and earned her teaching certificate. Upon graduation, Margaret taught at various Richardson County schools for several years. On February 22, 1941, she was united in marriage to Henry J. Watton at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Falls City.

After their marriage they farmed near Dawson for four years, and then moved to a farm near Shubert where they lived until retirement. After her family was raised, Margaret was a caregiver at Sunny Court Nursing Home for many years. She loved playing cards and was an avid bridge player and belonged to several bridge clubs. Even though she had nearly lost her eye sight, Margaret was still playing bridge with friends at Brookestone Village in Omaha where she had resided since March, 2011. She made the decision to leave her roots in Richardson County to be near more of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her family was of upmost importance to her. She also enjoyed many visitors as well as frequent phone calls from family and friends.

Margaret is survived by four daughters and three sons, Bev (Robert) Sunderman, Hiawatha, KS, Carmen (Sam) Jensen, Omaha, Ron (Sandra) Watton, Elkhorn, Roger (Barbara) Watton, Eagle, Regina (Michael) Cox, Portland, OR, Geralyn Koehler, Omaha, Mark (Diana) Watton, Wahoo, seventeen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband on March 9, 2008, a daughter, Judith Lynn, sisters, Pauline Toogood and Valeria Hoemann and brothers, Raymond, Harold and William Kuttler.
