Marian Harney Obituary
Marian L. Harney, age 88, of Brock, NE passed away Sunday, April 10, at Ambassador Nursing Home in Nebraska City. A funeral service for Marian L. Harney will be Friday, April 15th at 2:00 p.m. at the Brock Christian Church. Burial will follow the service at the St. Paul Cemetery near Talmage, NE. Jackie Gfeller will officiate.
Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, April 14th from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Hall Funeral Chapel in Auburn, NE.

Marian Louise Harney daughter of Martin Frerichs and Fannie (Caspers) Frerichs was born on February 26, 1928 in Brock, NE. She was one of two children born to this union.
She grew up in Brock and graduated from Brock High School in 1945. Marian then attended one year of business school. She was united in marriage to Robert R. Harney on August 19, 1946 in Hiawatha, KS. To this marriage three children were born. Robert and Marian made their home on farms near Brock and Talmage, NE and in later years Marian returned to Brock, NE.
Marian worked various jobs through her life and was assistant post master at the Brock Post Office until her retirement. She was a member of the Brock Christian Church, O.E.S., the Brock Pinochle Club, business manager for the Brock Bugle, and member of the Talmage Legion Auxiliary. Marian was active in the church and also loved gardening.
Due to ill health Marian entered the nursing home and on Sunday, April 10, 2016 she passed away at the Ambassador in Nebraska City. She had reached the age of 88 years, 1 month and 15 days. Marian was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert and one grandson Roy Harney.
She is survived by her children, John Harney and wife Ruby of Brock, NE; Daniel Harney of Nebraska City, NE; LuAnn Harney of Brock, NE; grandchildren, Julie Stamps of Omaha, NE; Nancee McMann of Auburn, NE; Hillary Bradshaw of Brock, NE; Robin Harney of Lincoln, NE; Jocelyn Burls of Virginia; Eli Pate of Kansas City, MO; great-grandchildren, AJ Stamps, Sydney Stamps, Jordan McMann, Ryan McMann, Adessa Harney, Edward Harney, Winnie Burls; great-great-grandchild, Regan McMann; one sister Margaret Taylor of Long Beach, CA; other relatives and many friends.
