Norman Wayne Olson

Norman Wayne Olson, 65, of Falls City, Nebraska was born August 18, 1951 in Falls City, Nebraska to George E. and Leona V. (Oldfield) Olson.  Norman was raised in Rulo where he attended school and later graduated from Falls City High School with the class of 1970.  In December of 1971, Norman was united in marriage to Jean Shurtleff.  To this union a son, Christopher Norman, was born.  The couple would later divorce.  Norman enlisted in the United States Army on August 31, 1972 and served his country until being honorably discharged on August 15, 1975. After his service to his country, Norman moved to Tucson, Arizona where he was employed at Davis-Monthan AFB until his retirement.  In June of 1988, Norman was united in marriage to Kathy Shantie.  The couple would later divorce.  Norm enjoyed playing golf, his dogs, cheering on the Cornhuskers, and spending time with his son Chris.  

Norman passed away on Monday, November 21, 2016, at the Falls City Care Center in Falls City, Nebraska having reached the age of sixty-five years, three months, and 3 days.  He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother Gary Olson, sisters Kaye Davies and Jeannie Keller, and son Christopher Olson.

Norman is survived by his loving sisters: Gayle Coble of Overland Park, KS; Janelle Marteny and her husband Mike of Falls City, NE; cousin John Caverzagie and his wife Claudia; abrother in law Robert Keller Sr. of White Cloud, KS; nd many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Graveside Inurnment Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, December 2, 2016 at the Rulo Cemetery in Rulo, Nebraska with Chaplain Sharon Schuster officiating.  Military honors will be conducted by the Nebraska Army Honor Guard.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the family’s choice with a later designation.
