Paula Jean (Frerichs) Martin

Paula Jean (Mills) Martin, 60, formerly of Falls City, Nebraska was born on April 24, 1962, in Geneva, Nebraska to Paul Jacob and Phyllis Ann (McKee) Frerichs.  She grew up in Fairbury, Nebraska where she attended grade school and later attended Wyandotte High School in Kansas City, Kansas.  In 1981, Paula was united in marriage to General Mills at Fort Smith, Arkansas. To this union five children, Anthony, Eric, Christopher, Gloria, and Angie were born. The couple would later divorce.  Paula was later united in marriage to LaVerne Martin and the couple made their home in various towns and states in the Midwest including Davenport, Iowa, Auburn, Nebraska and Falls City, Nebraska.  Paula was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Auburn.

Paula passed away on Thursday, April 20, 2023, at Bryan LGH Medical Center East in Lincoln, Nebraska having reached the earthly age of sixty years, eleven months, and twenty-seven days.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Laverne Martin, sisters: Ramona Frerichs and Virginia Chesly, and a brother Roger Frerichs.

Paula leaves behind to mourn her five children: Anthony Groff of Olathe, KS; Eric Mills of Lebanon MO; Christopher Groff of Kansas City, MO; Gloria Lowery of Matthews, NC; Angie “Sandra” Monnier and husband Nick of Raymond, NE; siblings: Craig Frerichs of Lincoln, NE; Becky Valdez of Colby, KS; Anna Marie Dunn of Raleigh, NC; Pamela Meyers of Falls City, NE; as well as many grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins, aunts, uncles, and many friends. 

Memorial Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at the Hall Funeral Chapel, 707 15th Street in Auburn, Nebraska with Reverend Brent Berg officiating.  Inurnment will immediately follow services at the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in rural Auburn.

Memorial contributions may be given to the family’s choice with a later designation.
