Robert Nichols Obituary
Robert J. (Bobby) Nichols, age 77 of Johnson, NE, passed away Wednesday, June 11, at the Good Samaritan Society in Auburn, NE. A funeral service for Robert Nichols is scheduled for Monday, June 16, at 2:00 p.m. at the St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Johnson, NE. Burial will follow at the St. Matthew’s Lutheran Cemetery in Johnson.
Visitation is scheduled for Sunday, June 15 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Hall Mortuary in Johnson.
OBITUARY
Robert Jewel Nichols son of Roy Nichols and Marjorie (Ford) Nichols was born on April 10, 1937 in Nehawka, NE. He was one of fourteen children born to this union.
Robert was raised in southeast Nebraska and graduated from Brownville High School. He was united in marriage to Alice Haack of Johnson, NE on January 20, 1968 at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Johnson. To this marriage one son Brian was born.
The couple lived in Blair, NE until moving to Johnson, NE in 1974. Shortly after moving to Johnson his wife Alice began her struggle with multiple sclerosis, and after years of suffering this debilitating disease Alice passed away in April of 1983.
Bob continued to live in Johnson and drove truck for a living. In 2008 due to illness Bob entered the Good Samaritan Society in Auburn and it is there that on Wednesday June 11, 2014 he passed away. He had reached the age of 77 years 2 months and 1 day. He was preceded in death by his parents, and wife Alice.
He is survived by his son Brian Nichols of Johnson, NE; brothers and sisters, Harold (Dorothy) Nichols of Auburn, NE; Delores (Jack) Hall of Stella, NE; Gordon (Linda) Nichols of Phoenix, AZ; Jesse (Karen) Nichols of Nemaha, NE; Claude (Shirley) Nichols of Auburn, NE; Joe Nichols of Clarinda, IA; Doris (Mark) Trierweiler of Coeburn, VA; David Nichols of Lincoln, NE; Dorothy (Doug) Olson of Columbus, NE; Debbie Counts of Haysi, VA; Tom Nichols of Clarinda, IA; Deanna Douglas of Columbus, NE; Tim (Shelly) Nichols of Auburn, NE; brothers-in-law, Rich (Donna) Haack of Vernon, CT; Ray (Mary) Haack of Johnson, NE; Ron (Debbie) Haack of Brock, NE; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Hall Mortuary of Johnson, NE is in charge of arrangements for Robert J. Nichols.
