Roma Fern Conn

Fern Conn, age 96 of Auburn, NE, passed away Sunday, February 8, 2015 at the Good Samaritan Society in Auburn. A funeral service for Fern Conn will be held Thursday, February 12, at 11:00 a.m. at the Hall Funeral Chapel in Auburn. Burial will follow at the Walnut Grove Cemetery in Brownville, NE.

Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, February 11, from 12 to 9 p.m. at the Hall Funeral Chapel with family greeting friends from 6 to 8.

Memorials in Fern’s memory may be given to Nemaha Rescue Squad, Good Samaritan or Family’s choice.

Obituary:

Roma Fern Conn, daughter of William Henry Sage and Mabel (Hughes) Sage was born  on May 30, 1918 in Mills County, IA.

Fern was raised in Nemaha County, NE where she lived her entire life. She attended  school in Nemaha, NE at District 35 through the eleventh grade. She was united in marriage to Joseph E. Conn on July 14, 1934 in Auburn, NE.

Fern worked at the Dan and Deb Shirt Factory in Auburn for nineteen years and Good Samaritan for ten years. She enjoyed quilting, cross stitching on baby quilts.

Fern moved to the Good Samaritan Society in Auburn in 2012. It is there that on Sunday, February 8, 2015 she passed away. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Robert Sage, husband Joseph, two infant children, one grandson, and one great-grandson.

She is survived by her children Roma Rowell (Wilbur) of Parkville, MO; Ruth Hyde of Bellevue, NE; Marie Conn of Bellevue, NE; Jolene Ogg (Charles) of Nemaha, NE; Roberta Reddick  of Lampe, MO; Wanda Sierks (Lonnie) of Auburn, NE; Robert Conn (Estelle) of Nemaha, NE; Pam Conn and special friend Ken Schlange of Auburn, NE; numerous grandchildren, sister-in-law Melva Sage of Brownville, NE; other relatives and friends.
