OBITUARY
Ruby Violet Argabright daughter of Eugene R. Argabright and Maude T. (Hallowell) Argabright was born on June 30, 1918 at the family home in rural Auburn, NE. She was one of eight children born to this union.
Ruby was baptized into the Lutheran Faith at Howe Evangelical and confirmed at Deshler Lutheran. She graduated from Auburn High School in 1936. She was united in marriage to Lester Burr on June 9, 1946. To this marriage three children were born.
She was a rural school teacher for six years, taught at Talmage for three years and at Johnson for twenty-three years, teaching the third grade. She graduated from Peru State College in 1965.
She was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, where she was a Bible school and Sunday school teacher and Superintendent. She also was a member of the Nebraska and National Education Association. She was life long resident of Nemaha County and moved to Johnson, NE in 1955.
Due to illness she entered the Good Samaritan Society of Auburn. It is there that on Tuesday, June 4, 2013 that Ruby passed away. She had reached the age of 94 years 11 months and 4 days. She was preceded in death by her parents, and three sisters and three brothers.
She is survived by her children Marcia Hewett and husband Tom of Murdock, NE; Randal Burr and wife Terri of Omaha, NE; Phyllis Gravatt and husband Mark of Brock, NE; grandchildren Clayton Gravatt (Nicole) Ryan Gravatt (Theresa) Blaine Hewett (Jessica) Jessica Hewett, Ashley Tines (Mark), Afton Burr nine great-grandchildren, one brother Lloyd Argabright and wife Nancy of Del Rio, TX; three sisters-in-law Mary Lootjer, Bobby Argabright, and Delores Argabright, nieces nephews other relatives and friends.
