Ruby Hoover, age 100, of Auburn, NE passed away, Tuesday, August 23, at the Nemaha County Good Samaritan Center in Auburn. A funeral service for Ruby Hoover will be held Friday, August 26 at 2:00 p.m. at the Hall Funeral Chapel in Auburn,NE. Burial will follow at the Sheridan Cemetery in Auburn, NE.
Visitation for Ruby is scheduled from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Friday with family greeting friends from noon til service time at Hall Funeral Chapel.
She is survived by her son Lee Hoover and wife Betty of Bellevue, NE; Sister Laveta DeFreece of Auburn, NE, brothers William and wife Lucille Criger of Lincoln, NE; Kenneth Criger of Kingman, AZ; three grandsons Rich Hoover of Lincon NE, Bob Hoover and wife Cindy Hoover of Auburn, NE; Emmett Hoover and wife Mari of Bellevue, NE; one granddaughter Claudia and husband Tom Spangler of Chandler, AZ; eight great-grandchildren, two great-great-grand children, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

OBITUARY Ruby Mae Hoover
Ruby Mae (Criger) Hoover, daughter of Mary Cain and James William Criger, was born near Savannah, MO on November 28, 1904. She was one of ten children born to this marriage . Ruby lived with her family in Savannah, MO until she was 7 years old. They then moved to Auburn and she has remained here her entire life. Ruby graduated from Auburn High School in 1923 and attended Peru State for 1 year. Ruby married James Lee Hoover on September 18, 1926 in Auburn, NE. Together they raised two sons Darrel and Lee. Ruby enjoyed spending her time playing canasta, quilting, crocheting and doing embroidery. A big part of her life included her faith and her family and friends. Ruby was also a member of the Mary Martha Circle. Ruby had been residing at the Nemaha County Good Samaritan Center in Auburn and it was there that she passed away, having reached the age of 100 years, 9 months and 25 days. She is preceded in death by her parents J.W. and Mary Criger, three sisters, three brothers, a loving husband Lee and a darling son Darrel. Those left to mourn her passing are her son and daughter-in-law Lee and Betty Hoover of Bellevue, NE; sister Laveta DeFreece of Auburn, NE; brothers William and wife Lucille Criger of Lincoln, NE; Kenneth Criger of Kingman, AZ; three grandsons Rich Hoover of Lincoln, NE; Bob and wife Cindy Hoover of Auburn, NE; Emmett and wife Mari Hoover of Bellevue, NE; one granddaughter Claudia and husband Tom Spangler of Chandler, AZ; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
