Ruth A. Boellstorff, age 96, of Brock, NE area, passed away Tuesday, June 28, 2005, at her home in Brock, NE. Funeral services for Ruth A. Boellstorff will be held on Friday, July 1, at 2:00 p.m. at the Charter Oak Christian Church in Talmage, NE. Burial will follow at the Johnson Cemetery in Johnson, NE. She is survived by her children James C. Boellstorff and wife Marie of Marshalltown, IA; Douglas H. Boellstorff and wife Kay of Johnson, NE; Daniel C. Boellstorff and wife Betty of Brock, NE; John D. Boellstroff of Brock, NE, son-in-law Dave Napier of San Francisco, CA; 14 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren. Visitation for Ruth A. Boellstorff is scheduled for Thursday, June 30, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Hall Funeral Chapel
Obituary
Ruth Alice Boellstorff, daughter of Telbert L. and Carrie Wilkie Richardson, was born February 25, 1909 near Brock, NE. Her childhood years were spent in Nebraska, northern Alaska, and Washington. She was baptized June 10, 1923, at Tacoma, Washington.
The family moved to Nebraska, where she graduated from Brock high school, she attended Peru Teachers College, then taught for three years.
August 20, 1930 she was married to Charles Boellstorff of Johnson, NE. They were blessed with five children.
In 1954 she became a member of the Charter Oak Christian Church in Talmage, NE. She served in its various organizations, and as organist for many years. She was a 50 year member of O.E.S. Trestleboard Chapter 67. Also she was a published writer with articles and stories in magazines and books.
May 13, 1978 her husband Charles passed away. Also preceding her in death was her daughter Fran Napier, brother Cyrus Harvey Richardson, her mother and her father. Ruth passed away Tuesday, June 28, 2005 at her home. She had reached the age of 96 years. Those left to mourn her passing are her children James C. Boellstorff and wife Marie of Marshalltown, IA; Douglas H. Boellstorff and wife Kay of Johnson, NE; Daniel C. Boellstorff and wife Bette of Brock, NE John D. Boellstorff of Brock, NE; son-in-law Dave Napier of San Francisco, CA; 16 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, nieces nephews other relatives and many friends.
