Ruth Irene Simpson

Ruth Irene Simpson, 85, of Peru, Nebraska was born on January 23, 1934 in Peru, Nebraska to John D. and Helen E. (Pierce) Simpson.  She was raised in the Peru area with her family and was a life long homemaker. 

Ruth passed away in Omaha, Nebraska on Friday, April 19, 2019, having reached the age of eighty-five years, two months, and twenty-seven days.  She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters Bessie “Toots” (Harold) Sherman and Alice (Irvin) Simms, brothers: Lester Simpson, Wayne (Marie) Simpson, Ray (Fran) Simpson and Jerry (Bev) Simpson, sister-in-law Connie Simpson and brother-in-law Stuart “Benny” Benson.

Ruth is survived by her sister Jessie Benson of Omaha, NE; brothers: John “Herb” Simpson of Valparaiso, NE; Bill Simpson and wife Ronna of rural Humboldt, NE; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 26, 2019, at the Mt. Vernon Cemetery in Peru, Nebraska with Pastor Ray Girard officiating.

Memorial contributions may be given to the family’s choice with a later designation.
