Viola Badberg Obituary
Viola M. Badberg, age 91, Talmage, NE, passed away, Friday, December 6, at the Ambassador Care Facility in Nebraska City, NE. A funeral service for Viola M. Badberg will be held Wednesday, December 11, at 2:00 p.m. at the Faith Lutheran Church in Talmage, NE. Burial will follow at the Grant Evergreen Cemetery southwest of Talmage, NE.
Visitation will be Tuesday, December 10, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.with family greeting friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church in Talmage, NE.
Viola M. (George) Badberg, daughter of George J. George and Bertha Geese was born November 3, 1922 in Brock, NE. She was one of eight children born to this union.
She was raised on a farm outside of Brock, NE. She attended school and graduated from Brock High School in 1940. Viola was united in marriage to Merlyn Badberg on June 20, 1940 at Faith Lutheran Church in Talmage. To this marriage three children were born.
Viola helped Merlyn on the farm, was member of the American Legion Auxiliary, member of ALCW, the Dorcas Circle, and taught Sunday school and bible school at Faith Lutheran.
She enjoyed crocheting afghan’s and spending time with her children, and grandchildren.
Due to ill health she entered the Ambassador in Nebraska City it is there that on Friday, December 6, 2013 she passed away. She had reached the age of 91 years, 1 month, and 3 days. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brother’s four sisters, one son Roger Badberg, and husband Merlyn.
She is survived by her daughter Carol Kowalski and husband Sam of Virginia Beach, VA; son Mark Badberg and wife Carolyn of Cook, NE; daughter-in-law Trudy Cooper and husband Clayton of Beemer, NE; 8 grandchildren, 5 great- grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren, 5 step-great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
Hall Funeral Chapel of Auburn, NE is in charge of arrangements for Viola M. Badberg.
