Wade A. Reeves, age 48, of Omaha, NE, passed away Sunday, February 23, at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, NE. A funeral service for Wade Reeves will be held Thursday, February 27, at 10:30 a.m. at the Hall Funeral Chapel in Auburn. Burial will follow at the Mt. Vernon Cemetery in Peru, NE.
Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, February 26, from 4 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. with family greeting friends from 6-8 at the Funeral Home.
OBITUARY
Wade A. Reeves son of Jerry Reeves and Nancy (Moser) Reeves was born on October 2, 1965 in Nebraska City, NE. He was one of three children born to this marriage.
Wade was raised in Peru, NE on the family farm. He graduated from Auburn High School in 1983. Wade attended Peru State College where he earned a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration and Management.
Wade worked at SAC Federal Credit Union for eight years as a Student Loan Manager, Mortgage Originator and Loan Officer. From 2002 to 2008 he worked for First Comp Insurance in Commercial Workers Compensation in Omaha until promoted to Regional Underwriting Manager for their new office in Henderson, NV.
He was very active in sports and he loved football. He coached his son’s little league football team. They had several winning seasons with only two losses in three years. Wade also played in a flag football league in Omaha. He was an avid weight lifter and enjoyed spending time at the gym.
Wade was a perfectionist and excelled in everything he did. On February 23, 2014 Wade lost his five year battle with heart disease. He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends who loved him dearly.
He is survived by his daughter Jadyn Reeves of Omaha, NE; son Tyson Reeves and granddaughter Leyani of Omaha, NE; parents Jerry and Nancy Reeves of Nebraska City, NE; sisters Diana Lind of Nebraska City, NE; and Lisa Reeves of Bellevue, NE; nieces, Regan Lind of Lincoln, NE and Alise Reeves of Belllevue, NE; nephew Derek Harms of Peru, NE; and Wade’s special friend Shari Abler of Omaha, NE.
He is also survived by Aunts and Uncles, Richard and Sharon Reeves of Nebraska City, NE; Beverly and Gary Perry of Peru, NE, Larry and Linda Reeves, of Hamilton, TX, Marcia Reeves of Peru, NE, Great Aunt Alyce Lopez of Corpus Christi, TX, Cousins, Shane Reeves and wife Sherry, Shelly Meredith, Shauna Bennett and husband Rick, Danny Snodgrass and wife Sheila, Tammy Sayer, Kip Reeves and wife Autumn, Kevin Reeves, Larry Reeves Jr., Robert Reeves, and Natalie Cluck and husband Kenneth. Also surviving are many other relatives and friends. Wade also is survived by his constant and loyal companion, Marley the dog.
Memorials given in Wade's will be donated to the Heart Transplant Center by the family
